Why is Senior Seminar a graduation requirement?
Given that during my high school career I have been taught: skills, habits, processes, concepts and information across the curricula, it follows that I will be comprehensively assessed on how I plan my goals, manage my time, organize and evidence subject notes (portfolio); access and interact with the community of my subject (project); and comprehensively manipulate knowledge in which I have a genuine interet and apply academic skills and habits to communicate the knowledge through text-based, verbal and visual manners (paper & presentation).
What is Senior Seminar?
Senior Seminar is a course for which I have to select a subject of my interest whereby I will: type an eight to eighteen page paper which maintains an argument as a thesis, communicate a thirty-minute presentation, interact with an individual or group of people who are in the community of my selected subject as the project, and organize my evidence of planning and progress as a portfolio.
Who is involved with Senior Seminar?
In addition to me being involved with Senior Seminar, other people include: an assigned course teacher, the research staff of the library, a mentor selected by me, my parents, my peers, and a member(s) of the community of my subject.
When does Senior Seminar happen?
Senior Seminar is scheduled during one semester of my senior year, on a meeting schedule of every other academic day.
Where does Senior Seminar occur?
Senior Seminar occurs in high school classrooms, library, large-group-instruction room, at home, on-line, the telephone, and in the field of the subject.
